Fueling Tuolumne County’s Future
Tuolumne BioEnergy is a local producer of premium wood pellets produced from forest feedstock that would otherwise go to waste. Our facility will process unmerchantable material. This project will directly result in the reduction of hazardous fuels and the improvement of forest health.
Boosting the Local Economy
We source materials from local forestry and fire mitigation operations. We will employ a dedicated team of operators, drivers and administrative staff, all contributing to the local economy through wages, taxes, and spending. Finished wood pellets products are sold to retail, commercial and industrial markets within the United States.

Environmental Responsibility
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. The wood feedstock that we use comes from sustainably managed forests, ensuring responsible harvesting practices and promoting healthy forest ecosystems. Additionally, our plant uses advanced technology to minimize emissions, exceeding all environmental regulations. We’re proud to say that our wood pellet production is carbon-neutral, meaning the CO2 released during combustion is equal to the amount absorbed by the trees during their growth. This is in stark contrast to fossil fuels like propane, which contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions.
Cost-Effective Heating Solution
Our finished product fuels wood pellet stoves and boilers, which are incredibly efficient. This translates to significant cost savings on consumer’s heating bills, especially with the current fluctuations in propane prices. Studies show that switching to wood pellets can save homeowners up to 30% on their heating costs compared to propane. Additionally, government incentives like tax credits and rebates can further sweeten the deal, making the switch even more attractive.
Beyond the Numbers
The benefits extend beyond economic and environmental advantages. We’re fostering a sense of community by promoting education about sustainable practices and renewable energy. We also support local events and initiatives, demonstrating our commitment to being a good neighbor. We encourage you to contact us with any questions that you may have.
Renewable Energy from Adaptable Forest Restoration
Forest Biomass Utilization is a complex problem. In California, recovery and transport cost analysis often make pile burning the most straightforward and cheapest solution.
Tuolumne BioEnergy takes a different approach to this waste (resource) opportunity. Remove the transport and operational cost barriers by using adaptable technologies and processes. Convert the resource to a merchantable product, avoiding GHG emissions from pile burning and reducing hauling.
Tuolumne BioEnergy integrates Mobile Chipping, Short Distance Hauling, Modular Biomass Combined Heat and Power (BCHP) and Modular Wood Pellet production technologies into an adaptable system for forest biomass recovery and conversion. Using proven technologies, TB locates close to the resource and converts what is considered waste into merchantable solid biofuel. Wood pellets are sold to retail, commercial and industrial markets.
